SECOND ANNUAL CLEVELAND GIVECAMP ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FROM NONPROFITS
CLEVELAND, OH (April 19, 2011) – Area nonprofit organizations looking for help on websites, web-based applications and software solutions are invited to apply to the Second Annual Cleveland GiveCamp for help.
Cleveland GiveCamp is a weekend-long event bringing together local technology talent to help local nonprofits in need. Over the course of a weekend, technology professionals, developers, designers, database administrators, marketing professionals and others donate their time to help area nonprofit organizations with a wide range of projects including developing websites, iPhone apps and more.
Interested organizations may apply online at www.clevelandgivecamp.org/Charity. Deadline for applications is June 21 and charities will be notified of their selection no later than June 24. Questions about the application process or the event may be submitted to info@clevelandgivecamp.org.
Last year’s inaugural event provided $250,000 of free development work to 21 nonprofits thanks to the work of 100 volunteers. The Cleveland event was the largest initial GiveCamp ever hosted, speaking to the city’s commitment to technology and helping others.
GiveCamp is a national event that connects technology talent with the needs of local non-profits. Since its inception in 2007, more than 150 charities in 30 cities have benefitted from projects completed during GiveCamps around the country.
The Second Annual Cleveland GiveCamp takes place July 29-31 and the committee is now accepting applications from Cleveland-area nonprofits to participate in the event. Nonprofits must provide proof of their 501(c)(3) status and have representatives available the weekend of the event.
